As little as a tenth of an inch of dust can reduce your furnace's efficiency by as much as 20%. That is a staggering number when you think about how little an amount of dust that is! The reason being is the blades on those blower wheels are specially designed to push a certain amount of air. Any dirt on those blades will cause the blower motor (direct drive motor which spins the wheel) to work harder, drawing more amperage (costing you more money) and pushing less air to keep the desired RPM. It also causes the heat exchanger to run hotter in your furnace, which ultimately lowers the lifespan.

In houses with forced-air heating and cooling systems, ducts are used to distribute conditioned air throughout the house. In a typical house, however, about 20 to 30 percent of the air that moves through the duct system is lost due to leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts. The result is higher utility bills and difficulty keeping the house comfortable, no matter how the thermostat is set. A duct system that is well-designed and properly sealed can make your home more comfortable, energy efficient, and safer.

A restricted dryer vent reduces air flow and causes your dryer to run hotter and longer, substantially impacting energy efficiency. Excess heat created by poor air flow can ruin your clothes, add dollars to your home’s energy bill and increase the wear and tear on your appliance. If your dryer takes twice as long to dry clothes as it should, the number of loads that it will dry in its lifetime is substantially reduced. Having your dryer vent cleaned helps reduce energy consumption, operating costs and the possibility of a fire.
Indoor air quality is one concern that we have when we decide to investigate air duct cleaning. In a typical six-room home, up to 40 pounds of dust is created annually through everyday living. Your heating and cooling system is the lungs of your home or office. The system takes air in and breathes air out. Through normal occupation in your home or office, you generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants, such as dander, dust, and chemicals. These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average. Air duct cleaning can remove airborne contaminates such as bacteria, fungus, mold spores, pet dander & pollen which may help to alleviate allergy & asthma symptoms.
